Meet Denny & Tina Cypret...
Photo by Lynn Photography, Eminence, Missouri
Tina is one of the legion of women who has had a consuming
passion for horses since nursery school. Denny is "retired" and Tina says she still works.
Denny does most of the shoveling and Tina does most of the training. Whenever we can, we
enjoy the Eminence and Pineville trail rides.
We take great pride in our horses and want them to achieve their maximum genetic potential. They are imprinted at birth along the same lines developed by Dr. Robert Miller as a natural starting point for training. With our smallish inventory, our colts receive a lot of attention. We feel that just about any regular contact with them is worthwhile, be it lifting their feet, playing with their ears or teaching them basic manners. Because of all this interplay and our "talking to them", some will say they are spoiled. Well, they probably are, but we love them, they know it, and it benefits both them and us when we get to serious training. They definitely are people horses. We encourage the natural curiosity of our foals, such as coming up to explore us. Our training methods are of the "low impact" style. Parelli, Lyons and others talk about teaching them to yield to pressure - this works for us and is much less stressful. There are many training techniques and philosophies in use today. You may have your favorites and simply not agree with what we do. We think it is well for you to know how our horses are developed. We really try to make sure our hoses are exposed to all kinds of terrain, obstacles and situations. While they are not by nature nervous or high-strung, they benefit from experience — Ozark mountains and rivers for stamina and county roads for meeting boogers of all types. Denny and Tina Cypret
